The role

Halekulani Bowling Club, nestled in the lakeside town of Budgewoi is a family friendly local that is only minutes from the beautiful beaches of the Central Coast. The Hali is home to the fantastic food of the Ohana restaurant as well as live entertainment, weekly promotions, bowling greens, friendly staff that always provide a fun, welcoming & inviting atmosphere. 


We are on the hunt for a Apprentice Chef (1st year) to join our team in a full time capacity, who will be responsible for ensuring high quality and efficient preparation, presentation and consistency of all food served within the venue. 


More specifically your day to day duties will include:

  • Carry out any reasonable duties as directed to you by the Head Chef on duty.
  • Ensure safe food handling, cleaning procedures and HACCP guidelines are adhered to
  • Create a positive guest experience by delivering a high level of food quality and efficient food preparation 
  • Work effectively as part of a team
  • Sort waste and dispose of it according to hygiene regulations, club practices and environmental considerations.
  • Use chemicals and equipment correctly, using appropriate PPE
  • Complete rotation of stock and monitor stock levels.


Skills & experience

  • Experience working in a high volume kitchen is desired
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise workload
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Customer focused
  • Full availability and the ability to work a flexible roster, which includes days, nights and weekends (including public holidays)
