ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently searching for a dedicated and motivated Head Chef to join our close-knit team on a full-time basis at our venue, Breakers Country Club, located in Wamberal, NSW!

 

As a Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day kitchen operation whilst supervising our kitchen staff and ensuring the highest safety standards and high-quality meals are prepared for our customers to ensure we continue to create memorable guest experiences.

 

More specifically, your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Manage of staff engaged across Kitchen operations both Front and Back of House, including performance management, recruitment, training and development
  • Coordination of rosters to ensure operational needs are met including wage cost, forecasting and budgeting
  • Ensure continuous improvement of our service delivery
  • Attend and manage any staff complaints and customer complains
  • Ensure compliance of hygiene standards as set out within the HACCP standards
  • Ensure high customer services standards are always maintained
  • Monitor stock levels and complete appropriate rotation of stock
  • Assist with planning of menus
  • Compliance with Work Health and Safey, and Food Safety

 

ABOUT YOU

To be successful for this role, you should ideally have the following:

  • Previous experience working in and leading in a high volume kitchen
  • Hold a Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery
  • Hold a current Food Handling and Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
  • Outstanding communication skills
  •  A passion for leading a team and be proud to see what your team can accomplish and support them to succeed 
  • You will have a good grip on the financial side of the kitchen (costings, budgeting, stock control, purchasing, ordering and rostering)
  • You will work closely and collaboratively with the Club's leadership team to continually drive the catering department
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Well organised and have a strong customer focus
  • Availability to work a flexible roster which may include days, nights, weekends and public holidays
