ABOUT THE ROLE

 

Mounties Care is seeking a compassionate and experienced Casual Support Worker to provide respite support for a client living in Whale Beach, NSW!

 

This is a casual position offering two weekday shifts per week, working 9:00am to 4:00pm. You will be supporting a client living with dementia, so previous dementia care experience is essential.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for regular casual work while making a genuine difference in the life of an older person.

  • Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: 
  • Providing companionship and meaningful social engagement
  • Supporting a client living with dementia using a calm, person-centred approach
  • Assisting with personal care, including showering, dressing and grooming as required
  • Preparing meals and assisting with light household duties
  • Supporting community outings, walks and appointments
  • Monitoring client wellbeing and reporting any changes
  • Encouraging independence while ensuring the client's safety and comfort

 

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will have: 

  • Demonstrated experience supporting people living with dementia (essential)
  • Experience in aged care, home care or disability support
  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or equivalent) – desirable
  • A caring, patient and reliable nature
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and/or Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current driver's licence, reliable vehicle and comprehensive insurance
  • Current COVID-19 vaccinations (minimum two doses)
